Sunglasses not optional !! – UV Rays May Cause Significant Damage To Unprotected Eyes

HealthDay (8/20, Thompson) reported that “ultraviolet, or UV, rays can cause significant damage to unprotected eyes, resulting in a number of illnesses and disorders that can rob people of their sight.” Over the long term, UV exposure can play a role in the development of cataracts, macular degeneration, and even cancer.  And, because the majority of sun exposure happens early in life, parents should make sure their children wear sunglasses, too.

Sunglasses should be worn all year round. Sun rays are at work every day, even on cloudy days.

Look for sunglasses that have quality 100% UV protection that won’t rub off over time as you clean the sunglasses. Oakley sponsors US Team at 2010 Winter Olympics

VANCOUVER, British Columbia—The eyes of the sports world will turn to Vancouver as the city hosts the 2010 Winter Olympics beginning February 12, but ceremonies for the event have already begun. The Olympic flame was lit October 22 in Olympia, Greece and began its 106 day Canadian tour on October 30, where it will reach every province before ending its journey at the Olympic Cauldron.

Oakley at Milan-Sanremo

After the hundredth edition of the famous Milan-Sanremo cycle race, Oakley dominated the three steps of the podium won by cyclists wearing two sport specific models by the world leader of sports eyewear. In first place was Britain’s Mark Cavendish of the Columbia Team, who wore the very latest Oakley Jawbone model, second came Germany’s Heinrich Haussler of the Cervelo Test Team with the Oakley Radar model, and third was Norwegian Thor Hushovd, also of the Cervelo Test Team, with Oakley Jawbone.
