Persol Eyeglasses

Persol is an Italian company that has been making eyeglasses for over a 100 years. In 1917 Giuseppe Ratti, owner of Berry optical, started producing his first glasses and lenses for athletes and aviators. The company developed a flexible stem, known as the Meflecto system. Persol was introduced to the United States in 1962 and opened its first boutique on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in 1991. Patented at the end of the 1930s, the Meflecto is the world’s first flexible stem system designed for maximum comfort by eliminating pressure on the head from the arms or as we say in the industry temples of glasses. The Meflecto system allows the glasses to adapt to the unique shape of any face and still today represents a technologically unsurpassed solution.
